So the last time I updated was July 7th. And since then, many things have happened - mentionable and non-mentionable.
The next week, I helped out with VBS at Frazer, and I was also sick the first three days of that week. Brandon and I had a littler gheto/little kid date Thursday of that week... We went to Chucky-Cheese. It was actually and surprisingly fun!
The next week, on July 17th, it marked our one year. <3 We had a candle light dinner at my house and we watched Titanic. He gave me the cutest cupcake necklace. It's small, but I love it!
A few weeks passed. I went with Brandon and his family to a Baseball Game. It was a great time, but it was also a VERY sad night, for me at least. It was the last night I was going to see him before he left to Haiti for 9 days. When he dropped me off at my house and we had the "final" hug, I LOST it. I started crying but somehow I saved the worst of it for once he walked out the door. The next day, he was packing and resting up. He told me that he cried the who way home because he hated to see how much it hurt to watch him leave. )': It was so sad!
But that week wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Without him here, I got through my summer reading HISTORY book. Y'all... It was a legit History book. Called 1491. It was SO boring!!! I missed him terribly, but I got a lot done, which is good. He was home before I knew it and school started soon.
The first day was really weird because the only girl I really knew was Becca White and I hadn't had the chance to ask her if we had any classes together. But, she was the first person I saw when I walked into my first class. It turns out we have 3 classes together. She and I have become really close and she is actually dating one of Brandon's close friends so its been easy to talk to her.
The first few weeks were hard, Brandon wise, because we had gone from seeing each other 2 days a week to 6 days a week. We both knew it was going to take time to get used to it and I think that is the reason we were able to talk everything out and not just give up.
I'm gonna go all mushy for a second... He is my bestfriend. He has been by my side through a LOT of stuff lately and he is honestly the reason why I have been able to push through things lately. He's crazy, and he's loving. He's smart, and at times, he's stupid. He loves to be with my family and he gets SO excited when I tell him that Mason is here. He loves to be with Mason and play with him and it just makes me love him any more.
Okay. Enough with the mushy crap.
One thing that LAMP does that I find AMAZING is Service Projects. There are many details that go into this, but the main thing is each class divides into groups and goes out and serves in the community. Many churches in Montgomery do local outreaches and that is what Service Day is. They can't make it Christian based, but if you ask me, I would say that it is Christian based. And I love it!
Brandon and I chose to go to the Adullam House. Every time I go here, I am touched in a different way. Usually, I clean out the clothes closets. But this time, I got the opportunity to be with the infants. If you don't know much about the Adullam House, it is a place where kids whose parents are in jail can go and live there. They are treated like normal children, even though they aren't.
But while I was there, I cleaned a bathroom and played with the children. Most people would say that I had a fun, easy, and worthless job. But they weren't there with us. The women who volunteer there were tired and the needed to rest. There were two of them and at least 7 babies all under the age of 3. It was crazy! I don't know how they stay sane! It was a great experience and I encourage all of you to go and check it out sometime.
So far, I am enjoying LAMP. Overall, the people are awesome and very sweet. I have made some new friends, but I will never be able to forget all the memories I have from Trinity. I loved growing up with y'all and I wouldn't trade that for the world. It was just time that I left. God put LAMP in my path for a reason and I was determined to find out why. I have now. And it is to be a light there. Matthew 28:19 says, "Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[a] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit."
God has called us the make disciples of all nations and many people think that means in other countries, but there are people here who do not know Christ. I want to help them and that is why God put LAMP into my path.
I miss you all and I will see you soon!!!
Love,
Tiffany Taylor
